Adobe Reader Documents

Adobe Acrobat

This site makes extensive use of PDF forms and documents that were created with Adobe products. To view and print these forms, you'll need to download a free version of Adobe Reader. If you already have Reader on your computer, you do not need to download it again. If you print them out from the Adobe Reader on A4 paper, you will need to select the “shrink-to-fit” option. You may also have to use this option if you print on paper that is either narrower or shorter than the original size (mostly 8-1/2"x11").

1. Presentation Guidelines—Poster

Poster sessions will be held in Exhibit Hall 200ABC of the Quebec City Convention Center on Monday, July 25, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; Tuesday, July 26, from 10:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.; and Wednesday, July 27, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

All posters must be mounted between 2:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., Sunday evening, July 24, and remain in place for the duration of the meeting. Posters must be removed by 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 27.

Approximately one third of the posters will be presented each day:

Posters must not exceed 4 feet by 4 feet (1.2 m by 1.2 m) and must be mounted with Velcro fasteners. All presenters should bring their own Velcro fasteners. Long T-pins and push-pins will not be permitted.

Abstract numbers will be indicated on the poster board. Posters should include the title of the abstract and the name(s) and affiliation(s) of the author(s). Charts, drawings, and illustrations may be similar to those used in making slides, but with bolder, heavier figures. They should be readable from distances of 4 feet or more. Color may be used to add emphasis. Keep illustrative material simple. Hand-lettered material should contain appropriate heavy lettering at least 3/8" high. Please use large type for all text. When feasible, use graphs to demonstrate qualitative relationships and tables for presenting precise numerical values. If possible, photographs should be on matte, not glossy, paper. Brief “Introduction” and “Conclusions” sections are helpful.

These guidelines for presentations are also posted on the SSR website on page 4 of the Scientific Program Booklet at:
http://www.ssr.org/Documents/2005-05-19Booklet.pdf

2. Presentation Guidelines—Platform (Slide)

Regular platform session presentations are 10 minutes in length with up to 2-3 minutes for questions.

Minisymposium speakers and invited speakers have received instructions from their session chair.

Talks must be uploaded in advance. Please upload your presentation by 17 July 2005. It is vital that presenters read and adhere to the presentation instructions.

Currently there are only enough volunteers to keep the Placement Service open 60% of these hours. SSR Trainees and non-member Trainees are encouraged to volunteer to staff the Placement Service. Please contact Kimberly Barnett <kbarnett@epi.umaryland.edu> to sign up for an hour or two during the course of the meeting.

Kimberly is also looking for three trainee volunteers for duties at the Techniques Workshop on Sunday morning.
