Travel Awards

Travel Awards for Underrepresented Minority Trainees and Junior Faculty

A grant from the Burroughs Wellcome Fund makes possible travel awards for underrepresented Minority Trainees and Junior Faculty. Each award will cover cover registration and reimburse up to $610 for housing and $500 in airfare. Four minority trainees and one minority junior faculty will be selected to receive these awards.

FASEB MARC Travel Award

The FASEB MARC Program provides funding for travel awards to support the participation of Faculty/ Mentors and Students, and Poster/Platform (Oral) Presenters at selected scientific meetings and conferences. The awards help to defray meeting registration and travel-related expenses (lodging, transportation, per diem) for eligible underrepresented minority* undergraduate and graduate students, post-baccalaureates, postdoctorates, junior faculty and mentors/faculty scientists in the biomedical and behavioral sciences. Minority Affairs Symposium

The Minority Affairs Symposium will be held on Wednesday 28 May from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Patricia Martin-DeLeon, Ph.D. (University of Delaware, Newark, Delaware) will present Securing Our Place on the Map: Reprogramming the GPS in an Evolving Scientific Landscape. The symposium is open for all interested trainees and members. Established scientists are encouraged to meet and speak with trainees.
