Climate
In August, Portland’s average high temperature is 79.3°F (26.5°C) and average low is 57.3°F (14.06°C), with an average of 1 inch of precipitation per month. Temperatures have been known to rise as high 100°F (38°C) in August, so be prepared to dress in layers.

Conference Attire
Casual dress is appropriate for all meetings and social events. Meeting t-shirts (both current and previous designs) are always an excellent choce of attire—plus their purchase supports the Larry Ewing Trainee Travel Fund (LEMTTF).
Copying and Faxing
Both the Doubletree Hotel Portland and Red Lion Hotel Portland have business centers that offer photocopying, printing, and faxing services for a fee.
The Oregon Convention Center has a self-service business center on the third floor. It is open 7 days per week, 7:00 am–11:00 pm.
Photocopying and faxing services are available at the FedEx Office Print & Ship Center. The FedEx Office will print posters up to 48 inches wide from a PDF that you may either bring on a USB drive or email to the address below. Other services include copying and duplicating, printing, packaging and shipping, signs and graphics.

Internet Use
Free wireless internet is available to SSR attendees staying at both the Doubletree Portland and Red Lion Portland hotels. An access code will be provided to registered guests upon check-in.
Dining & Entertainment
Numerous restaurants featuring a large range of cuisine and prices surround the Oregon Convention Center. These can be found on maps available at the information kiosk near the entrance.

Liability insurance is the responsibility of each individual delegate. All delegates should have their own medical coverage.
Registration does not include insurance of any kind. SSR is not responsible for any participant's failing to arrange his or her own insurance. Participants are encouraged to secure their own insurance to protect against any loss caused by unforseen delay, circumstance, or cancellation.

Attendees with children may contact the following services for daytime child care during the meeting. It is advisable to make arrangements in advance. SSR provides this information as a courtesy to meeting attendees, and makes no claim regarding the performance or suitability of these services.
