SSR 2017 Registration
Welcome! You may now register for the 50th Annual Meeting of the SSR. You may pay for registration by credit card, check, money order, or bank transfer. Purchase orders are not accepted. Please read over the information on this page, then register online or with a downloadable PDF form.
Pre-registration will close after Friday, 30 June 2017. Registration forms received after 30 June will not be processed until the Meeting starts in Washington, DC. Registration will be available on-site at the Meeting.
Everyone entering the 2017 SSR meeting space must be registered for the Meeting and wear a 2017 meeting badge; there will be no exceptions.
The cost of registering for the Annual Meeting depends on your membership or career status. Members of the Society are eligible for discounted registration, while trainees (undergraduate and graduate students) are eligible for an additional registration discount, regardless of current membership status. If you are unsure of your current membership status, please contact the SSR Membership Department.
Registration fees cover:
- Attendance at all scientific sessions.
- Attendance at the Opening Reception (7:00–9:00 pm, Thursday, 13 July).
- Attendance at the Trainee Forum (10:30 am–noon, Thursday, 13 July; trainees only, attendees must indicate attendance on the registration form to receive refreshments).
- Attendance at the Diversity Symposium (noon–1:30 p.m., Sunday, 16 July; paid tickets are required for the accompanying lunch).
- Afternoon beverage breaks, Friday–Sunday.

If you were an SSR Member at any time during the last eleven years (2006–2017), the Online Registration Form will assign an appropriate registration rate for your membership type (Regular, Trainee, Emeritus, etc.), using your e-mail address to identify you. If your membership has lapsed, you will have the opportunity to renew your membership and qualify for a discounted registration rate. If you were last an SSR Member prior to 2006 and wish to renew to qualify for the discounted registration rate, please contact the Membership Department for a renewal form before registering for the Meeting.
Members who renew their memberships while registering online will not be given the opportunity to take advantage of the 2017 Developing Country Discount. If you are from a Developing Country (see list here) and wish to take advantage of the Developing Country Discount when renewing your Regular membership, please renew your membership before you register for the Meeting; see our Membership Renewal page.
On-site registration will be available at the meeting. Hours and location will be posted here as soon as that information is available.
Single-Day Registration will be available on-site at the meeting. Single-day rates will be:
|SSR Regular or Associate||$210|
|SSR Emeritus||$ 55|
Registration packets will contain a receipt of payment, name badge, and vouchers for special purchases; packets will be distributed at the SSR Pre-registration site.
Refunds, less a $25 service charge, will be issued for cancellations received in writing on or before 30 June 2017. Cancellations received after 30 June and before 13 July will be subject to a service charge of USD $75. No refund will be issued for cancellations received on or after 13 July 2017. Refunds will be issued within four weeks after the Annual Meeting has concluded.
Registration and attendance at, or participation in, the SSR Annual Meeting and related special events constitutes an agreement by the attendee to allow the free use and distribution of the attendee’s image or voice in various media forms, including but not limited to photographs, videotapes, and electronic reproductions, in print or electronic format.
