Trainee Travel Grants

Larry Ewing Memorial Trainee Travel Fund

The Larry Ewing Memorial Trainee Travel Fund was established by the Society for the Study Reproduction in honor of the late Dr. Larry Ewing, who was an ardent supporter of SSR’s commitment to trainees. The Fund is administered by the Trainee Affairs Committee. Trainee members of the Society may request travel assistance. Funding is intended for trainees who active in research but have limited funds. Awards are considered a reimbursement. Trainees should preregister for the annual meeting before submitting an application for a travel grant. The application must be filled out completely and mailed or faxed no later than June 10, 2005.

To be a qualified applicant, you must be a trainee member of SSR (paid up by March 1, 2005 (deadline for submission of abstracts), and be the presenter of an accepted abstract at the Annual Meeting. The application must be accompanied by a photocopy of the SSR abstract acceptance notification (email or postcard). Applicants are encouraged to fax applications.

Placement Service

The SSR Placement Service provides a vehicle for introducing potential candidates to potential employers seeking to fill predoctoral, postdoctoral, industrial, technical, and faculty positions. We do not attempt to match candidates with positions, nor do we arrange interviews. We do not maintain a file of CVs or formal job announcements. However, we are able to transfer position announcements posted at the Annual Meeting to the FASEB Career Resources online listing if requested. This service is free of charge. In addition, a message board is available at the SSR Annual Meeting for the exchange of information among users of the Placement Service.
