Adobe Acrobat

This site makes extensive use of PDF forms and documents that were created with Adobe products. To view and print these forms, you'll need to download a free version of Adobe Reader. If you already have Reader on your computer, you do not need to download it again. If you print them out from the Adobe Reader on A4 paper, you will need to select the "shrink-to-fit" option. You may also have to use this option if you print on paper that is either narrower or shorter than the original size (mostly 8-1/2"x11").

Pre-Implantation Genetic Diagnosis

This is a procedure that is intended to weed out genetically defective embryos before they have a chance to develop. It is usually requested by prospective parents who are concerned about passing an incurable genetically based disease or disorder to their child. Typically one or both partners have been genetically screened and found to be a carrier.

Biotechnology in Animals and Feeds

We anticipate that "new" biotechnology will become an even greater source of products in the future. The spectrum of products being presented to CVM for regulation includes biotechnology products from plants, microbes and animals.
