SSR Science Education Outreach Day: Camp Monkey

The second annual SSR Science Education Outreach Day will be held on Friday, 29 July 2011 (just prior to the start of the SSR meeting on Sunday). We will take advantage of the unique proximity of the SSR meeting in Portland to the beautiful campus of the Oregon National Primate Research Center (ONPRC), where the activity will be held. The theme for our outreach day will be “Camp Monkey,” and we will accommodate 72 middle school students (6–8th grade) from the Portland metropolitan area for a full day of science fun! The students will rotate among six separate, 45-minute labs, 9 am–4 pm, with lunch and snacks provided. There is no charge to participate in Camp Monkey, which is supported by a grant from Burroughs Wellcome Fund. Please see our flyer for more information!

We are very grateful to the Supporting Organizations of SSR’s Science Education Outreach Day.
